Reference:

We bought a puppy from Barbara in March of 2006. Blue's Boy has been an excellent addition to our
family. We have two children under the age of eight and he plays with both of them and will even
follow obedience commands from the four year old. His temperament is wonderful. He is loving and
attentive to his family and worries about everyone in the house, even the cats. In addition, he has
been one of the healthiest pets I have owned. His temperament and health are only outshined by his
good looks and beautiful movement. All of that and a wonderful breeder to work with!

Thanks, Barbara and Mark

To whom it may concern:

I purchased my wonderful little “RICCI” from Heart of Texas Kennel in March 2006.  I couldn’t
have been more pleased with my experience in dealing with Barbara Williams and Mark Manley.
These are extremely dedicated breeders who put the best interest of the pups they raise first
and foremost.  This is a “forever” relationship between HOT and me.  It is so important that
those of us who are looking for that “special pup” to be able to have a good relationship with
the breeder from the first contacts through the life of the dog and with HOT, you get just that
and more.

Barbara offered information about the breed, the standards and health issues, and the breed
clubs.  She answered any and all of my questions about the breed and her dogs and she anticipated
things I may have forgotten to ask.  Now that I have my special friend, she continues to help in giving
me information and sharing her wealth of knowledge.

I believe that you can not go wrong if you consider HOT to purchase your Alaskan Klee Kai.  You will
not only have an outstanding dog, but you will have a lifelong mentor and friend.

Sincerely,

Janet Mann and (RICCI)

I've known Barbara Williams for a while now.  We have always been able to discuss health and temperament in
the AKK in general.  her dogs in specific have always been healthy/happy/friendly dogs willing to greet anyone
coming to see them.  Health has always been a major concern to her and she does not hesitate to ask for help
and/or opinions.  Her dogs have been consistently winning in the show ring and many people (myself included)
are very happy to be on her waiting list!

Comments:

I have been to Barbara and Marks house and must say their dogs are all cared
for well. They have some awesome puppies being born there. Take a look at
Hondo and Gipsy.

When I first decided to get an Alaskan Klee Kai, I was fortunate to
have found Heart of Texas.  Barbara Williams and Mark Manley are two of
the nicest people I have ever met.  They truly believe in breeding each
generation of AKK better than the last.  Their experience as breeders is
evident in the quality of their dogs as represented by the number of
Grand Champions and Champions in their kennel.  My AKK, Foxxy, is truly
a wonderful pet and show dog who is friendly, playful, and lovable.
During her first NLC Puppy Class shows, she has won 4 second place
ribbons, 3 first place ribbons and 3 Best Puppy ribbons.  Barbara and
Mark ensure their puppies are socialized and exposed to a variety of
environment before they every leave home.  They ensure their dogs are
tested for health concerns and results are posted for all to see.  Last
but not least, I have found new friends with Barbara and Mark.  They
welcome you into their family and provide you with all the support and
advice you could ever wish for.

Thank you Barbara and Mark for my wonderful little girl and a new found
friendship.

Our names are Gerald and Debbie.  We have known Barbara Williams since 1977 and 1995.  As a military
dependant who traveled all over the world there have been times that she did not breed dogs but she is and
has always been a lover of all animals.  At one point in time she even bred Chinchillas.

As a breeder she is conscientious and very aware of her dogs needs.  There have been many times if she had
not been hyper-aware of the animals,  tragedy could have occurred.  She is a stickler and always has been of
breeding to the accepted standards of the breed and of keeping in the highest ethics of the breed.

We too breed dogs, and we actually have two dogs that we got from Barbara & Mark.  They are Siberian Huskies.
We have had them since 1999 and they are in good health and very nice dogs with wonderful temperaments.
Never would Barbara Condone breeding a dog that was unhealthy or that had a genetic defect.  Actually when we
spoke prior to Barbara Getting the dog Buddy back, one of the points that was always made was that the first thing
that she would have to do is to take him to the vet.  She stated that the person that had the dog prior to that was not
following thru on medical exams and reporting them to her.  She was afraid that the person would have bred him no
matter whether the heart murmur had gone away or not since the dog was red.  When the other person had picked
up the dog, after the contracts had been signed, she mentioned that she was going to breed the dog to a white dog
to get a different color of red and register any puppies as a single registered dog.  This had concerned Barbara
quite a bit.

She was very happy that she was going to get the dog back so that she could ensure the health of the breeding and
keep the lines correctly registered.  This was a very serious issue to Barbara and she wound up feeling like she had
been betrayed by placing the dog with the person who had him.

I was even actually at the show in January where I understand that there was conversation later about a dog being
shown in Labor.   I was there until well after the show was over.  At no time was the dog in question, in distress and
the dog was NOT in labor at the time that I was there.  In fact, I had arrived home by the time Barbara called to tell
us that the dog had began her labor.   She had been saying that she might be due but as she had not began nesting,
it would have appeared that she had days left to go instead of delivery being eminent.

They worked with me every step of the way in getting my puppy and were very careful to get to know
me through a number of phone calls and lots of email letters to make sure I would provide a good home
for their little one. They’ve been wonderful in introducing me to the akk community and other akk owners
in my area.

To interested parties:
I am pleased to address you about Mark & Barbara at Heart of Texas Alaskan Klee Kai who have served as
my Breeders and with whom I carry on a professional relationship to this day. Their conscientiousness in
preparing contracts and information and their skill to explain difficult situations concerning the puppies in
all aspects including but  not limited to training have been commendable. They have always been prompt
while returning calls and e-mails and extremely courteous and their ability to communicate areas of
concern not only  about my pup but all other aspects of their breeding program have always been most
professional. If you are considering various breeders and want to feel you can call upon them any time
day or night with any concern you may have big or small, I could not recommend them more highly.

We would just like to say a few things about Barbara & Mark.  We met them at the UKC premier
in Kalamazoo, MI in 2004 and since then we have talked quiet a bit with the two of them and seen
many pictures of their AKK and heard many stories about them, there is no doubt in our minds that
Barbara and Mark love their AKK and are devoted to them.  We have the utmost trust in Barbara
and Mark.  We have placed two of our AKK with them knowing they are in a wonderful home.  They
treat their AKK as we do, part of the family, which means sharing their home with them and
raising them with love.  Barbara and Mark participate in many dog shows in their area and always
take into consideration the other AKK showers as well as their own dogs.  I remember when they
pulled Emmy out of a show because she was winning and taking points away from the puppies that
were in that age group and Emmy was too young to earn points, she was very proud of her but puller
her out due to fairness to the other puppies.  Barbara and Mark are wonderful people who love their
AKK with out a doubt they are very open people, if you took the time to get to know Barbara & Mark
you would probably feel the same way we do, they are very open and honest people who only want what
is best.  They know every personality and characteristic of all of their AKK, you can’t go wrong with
breeders like Barbara & Mark, they have great bloodlines and they’ve had very nice pups out of their AKK.

I wanted to send an email for you to post on your site if you wanted to. I was so excited to get a
Klee Kai, and Mark and Barbara were so patient with me. Mark took lots of time out of his day
to explain everything about the puppy's personality and his parents so I wouldn't be intimidated
by my first dog. When Talyn came he was the most beautiful and shy dog I had ever seen, and I
loved him immediately. Even when I went through a panic about whether or not I should keep
him since I was so scared, they stayed up with me and helped me through it. Now a few months
later I cant even imagine my life without Talyn. When we are ready to get our next puppy, I will
definitely be on their list again.
